Polymer membranes PVC, TPO and EPDM
ROOF REPAIR / WATERPROOFING / NEW CONSTRUCTION
PVC is a roll material made of plasticized polyvinyl chloride, reinforced with polyester mesh or glass fiber. Seam welding is carried out using automatic or manual welding equipment.
- Due to the reinforcement, the membrane has high tensile strength.
- The peculiarity of PVC membranes is their ability to remove excess moisture from underneath the roof.
- The service life is over 25 years.
TPO is a roll material based on thermoplastic polymers. Seam welding is carried out using automatic or manual welding equipment.
- The polymer contains up to 30% polypropylene, which gives the membrane high chemical resistance.
- High mechanical resistance, greater than PVC.
- TPO membranes can be used at very low temperatures down to -60 °C.
- TPO roofing systems are the most environmentally friendly.
- The service life is over 40 years.
EPDM is a black single layer membrane, also called “rubber roofing”. For installation, double-sided self-adhesive tape is used.
- The coating is resistant to moisture and UV
- Withstands extreme temperatures from -60 °C to + 120 °C
- Has high elasticity (elongation more than 400%)
- The service life is over 25 years.
Advantages of PVC, TPO and EPDM membranes:
- elasticity
- vapor permeability
- temperature fluctuations resistance
- UV resistance
- fire resistance
- environmental friendliness
- competitive price
- easy installation of complex roof configurations
- good maintainability
- high quality
The service life of the membranes is at least 30-35 years, and the TPO covering is more than 50 years.
Polymeric membranes are usually 20-40% more expensive for bitumen-polymer materials, but their service life is much higher.
Polymeric membranes are able to expand and contract under the influence of temperature, retaining its integrity. Thanks to this, they are used in all climatic regions and in all weather conditions.
These single layer systems are some of the easiest systems to install and weld with heat treatment.
High speed of installation of roofing from polymer membranes is achieved due to a large range of roll sizes. Roll width from 0.9m to 15m and length up to 60m.
The thickness of the roofing membranes ranges from 0.8mm to 2mm, and the average weight of 1m² is 1.3 kg.
Extra-Alliance – high quality roofing works
We have been working with these systems for a long time, and polymer membranes have been confirming their effectiveness for several decades.
